Ankur Garg, Founder

The idea for ‘I for India’ was born while Ankur was working as the Lead for Customer & Partner Experience, Microsoft India. He quit his 7 year long association with Microsoft in September 2012 to work full time on 'I for India'. Prior to Microsoft, he was associated with Perot Systems, GE and Datamatics.

An IIM-Ahmedabad and Pune University alumni, Ankur firmly believes in India’s growth potential and in technology as a medium for that growth and change. He is passionate about entrepreneurship and advises a few small and medium size technology companies. He is also a Partner and Producer at a film production house called Luv Films.

tarun jain
Tarun Jain, Founder

Prior to moving back from the US to India and helping co-found ‘’, Tarun was a Senior Business Analyst at Capital One Financial in Richmond, Virginia. He has earlier worked at a technology start-up in Southern California and as a researcher at the University of Southern California.

He has a strong background in business strategy, analysis and research, and strongly believes in the power of data in better understanding problems and in coming up with informed and targeted policies. He has interests in renewable energy, technology for change and finance and serves as a technical and strategy advisor to start-ups in the clean energy area.

He holds bachelor's and master's degrees in Electrical Engineering, both from the University of Southern California.

Puneet Bajaj
Puneet Bajaj, Co-founder & Technology Advisor

Puneet is an ex-Microsoft employee. He believed in the thought behind I for India and decided to help the team make it a reality. When he is not busy writing code, he is thinking of ways to leverage technology to solve problems for the common man. Puneet has written most of the code that ‘I for India’ runs on, taking limited help from and supervising a few volunteers along the way. He has a bachelor's in Computer Engineering and an MBA, and is a complete geek at heart.
